

The AGA Trenton Chapter was officially chartered on September 1, 1977, to unite government financial management professionals in the pursuit of excellence in public service. Organized as the Association of Government Accountants of Trenton, New Jersey, the chapter was established to foster collaboration among government financial professionals, encourage the exchange of ideas, advance financial management principles and standards, promote accountability to the public, and uphold the highest professional and ethical standards. Since its inception, the chapter has remained committed to improving the quality and effectiveness of governmental fiscal management while promoting education, professionalism, and community service.
Since its founding, the Trenton Chapter has built a strong tradition of leadership, education, and public service. As a leading advocate for government accountability in the State of New Jersey, the chapter provides continuing professional education (CPE), Professional Development Training (PDT), Certified Government Financial Manager (CGFM) certification support, scholarships, and networking opportunities for professionals in accounting, auditing, budgeting, information technology, and financial management.
Guided by AGA’s core values of Service, Accountability, Integrity, and Leadership, its members have consistently advanced government accountability and transparency while supporting their communities through volunteerism and charitable initiatives. Today, the AGA Trenton Chapter continues to serve as a trusted resource for government accountability professionals throughout New Jersey, carrying forward the mission established at its founding.
